WHY I LOVE WORKING WITH VETERANS

Veterans have a special place in my heart, my Father is a veteran, and he is truly my hero!  He told me when I was young that it is because of the leadership and guidance the military provided him that he is who he is today!  This certainly served as a benefit to me and my family on a personal level, in striving to be like him.  His discipline, integrity and strength are all characteristics to be desired.  I have shared with my Dad on many occasions that if I could be half the person and parent that he is, then I have done great!

It wasn't until my college years that I became aware of my father's and other veterans impact in the world!  There is no way that one could repay someone for sacrificing their life for you.  Well, actually there is!  I believe that my cherishing every moment and living a life of service that my parents, family, friends, community and the world can be proud of.

This leads me to a conversation I had with my teenage son.  We were watching a new show called Oprah's Big Give and this particular show happened to show a veteran family.  The husband had been in war and had become disabled, but while away his family was struggling to survive, having the basic necessities and a place to call home.  Upon his return now faced with his disability and providing for his family Oprah bought the family a home.  Of course, my son and I are sitting there crying and he said, I can't believe this, how could this happen to them?  He went to war for our country and came back hurt and they have no where to live, why doesn't the military help them?  I had no answer for him, in the now or the big picture for the future.  He was crying so hard, saying how could our country do this?  Again, I had no answer.  I believe this was just the beginning of his realization of how our Veterans are our heroes and all they sacrifice to protect our country.

Those are just a few reasons that compelled me to serve The Veteran community through Real Estate.
